Royal AM to Negotiate Contract with Shaune Mogaila
Royal AM are in talks with their star player, Shaune Mogaila, about extending his contract.
That’s according to Mogaila’s agent, Gerald Baloyi, who claims that the Durban-based outfit are keen to retain the services of his client, who has six months left on his current contract.
Despite Royal’s dismal performances throughout the ongoing 2023/24 Premier Soccer League (PSL) season, Mogaila has helped them score five goals and provided six assists in more than 60 appearances.
As such, the 28-year-old winger has garnered serious attention from the likes of Orlando Pirates, Sekhukhune United, AmaZulu FC and even Uzbekistan outfit, FC Nasaf.
“We’re talking to Royal AM, but we can’t stop other teams [who are interested],” commented Baloyi in an interview with a local soccer outlet on Tuesday, 9 January. “But [Mogaila] is still on holiday. When he comes back, we’ll be able to negotiate properly.”
Perhaps Mogaila would do well to explore his options: in addition to their 14th-place ranking on the PSL table, the club is also said to be experiencing financial difficulties that have allegedly prevented their players from being paid their sign-on fees.
